Currently Reading: July
May and June have been a whirlwind of activity and I’m finally pausing to share a few things like, what I’ve been reading lately…
A lovely collection of art, artists, musicians, etc. with musings on creative living. A great magazine for an artist date, sitting out in a café or at home with a cup of coffee.
I’ve always loved interior design books and magazines. I have loved them since the 90s. My first ones were Martha Stewart Living and later on Living Etc. I stopped subscribing years ago, but every so often I am gifted a design book or I purchase one like this one called House Rules by @thenester. It’s full of great tips for creating a home that works for you! I’ve flipped through, gone back, skipped ahead… in this book. It’s come at a great time as I plan to tackle some home projects this summer (which I have completely abandoned!). Tips #58 and #12 have already got me thinking. I will be referring to “these rules” in the coming weeks!
I finally finished it!!! You can read all about that journey here!
A quick read filled with great insights on the creative process and the importance of sharing your work.
“Show Your Work! is about why generosity trumps genius. It’s about getting findable, about using the network instead of wasting time “networking.” It’s not self-promotion, it’s self-discovery—let others into your process, then let them steal from you. Filled with illustrations, quotes, stories, and examples, Show Your Work! offers ten transformative rules for being open, generous, brave, productive. “
Well, that’s my current reads round up. Have you read any of these? What did you think?
